  Holly likes to say that she has been a painter her whole life.... she just didn't know it. She is self-taught artist who started with watercolors 15 years ago but now paints exclusively with acrylics and continues to be surprised with the vibrancy and effects I can create with mixing colors and their juxtaposition on the canvas. Because I attended an engineering school and did not take art after middle school, I paint with purposeful urgency, putting onto canvas the colors and textures I've noticed since I was a child.  Her deep connection with the outdoors informs her choice of subjects from the sun streaming through branches to ripples on the surface of the water.
